realNode

A realNode object represents a node in a system that does not contain any monitored objects.

Use a realNode object to represent such things as a LAN adapter, a copy of a spreadsheet program running in memory, a UserID, or a fire alarm. The LAN adapter. For example, contains various microprocessors, memory chips, and a port; because these sub-components are not monitored by the agent (or your application does not need to extend monitoring of sub-component level-of-detail to NetView® operators), the LAN adapter is represented by a realNode class object.

A realNode object is typically contained in an aggregateGraph or aggregateNode object. It can also be contained in an aggregateLink object to show adapters (end points) of the link or nodes connected to realLink or perspectiveLink objects.

Using Object Class Fields

The following table shows the MultiSystem Manager topology fields, private management fields, and presentation (graphical view) fields used by the real objects of the realNode class. It includes the valid field value, default value, and modification rules.
