Java Application Development Process

Use the following software development steps when developing a Java™ application:
  1. Edit your application:
    1. Use one of the provided Java application examples as a starting point.
    2. Customize the example to meet your specific requirements.
  2. Compile, package, and deploy your application. For more information about this process, see Compiling the Examples.
  3. Enable the new Java application. For more information about this process, see Defining the Example Java Applications.
  4. Test the Java application in the following way:
    1. Sign on to the server containing the new code.
    2. Display the Java application in a context menu.
    3. Select the menu item and verify that it is working properly.
    4. If necessary, enable service tracing options to help diagnose problems. For more information about tracing, see Tracing the Examples.
