System requirements

JCL Expert has the following system requirements.

  • z/OS 2.4 or later (JCL Expert is not compatible with earlier versions of z/OS)
  • JES2 (JCL Expert is not compatible with JES3)
  • REXX Compiler or Alternate Compiler Runtime to run the ISPF edit macro

Optional requirements:

  • The REST API installation requires Zowe 2.0.
  • The Eclipse plug-in requires IBM Developer for z/OS version 15 or later.

  • To run the REXX sample srp-rexx01.rex for site rules processing, the z/OS JSON parser must be installed on z/OS and z/OS UNIX.
  • To integrate JCL Expert with IBM Z® Workload Scheduler or IBM® Db2® as outlined in Integration with z/OS features, the respective product must be installed.
