SMF Data Extraction

The system management facility (SMF) collects and records z/OS® system events identified by record types. SMF record types are the primary source of information for IBM Z® Batch Resiliency to determine how a data set is referenced within an application. IBM Z Batch Resiliency uses the SMF Extractor and user exit to collect select records for analysis and processing.

The IBM Z Batch Resiliency SMF Extractor task must run in the highest Dispatch Priority available in your system environment.
