Updating your spreadsheet reports

The following task outlines the method used to update the data in your reports from information in IBM Z® Batch Resiliency.

About this task

Perform these steps to update the information in an IBM Z Batch Resiliency report for analysis in a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel.

Procedure

  1. Download the CSV data sets (generated using the method outlined in Creating a CSV data set using the IZBR ISPF panels) to your workstation.
  2. Open the relevant sample report from the /batch or /inquiry folders (as extracted using the method outlined in Downloading the sample Excel spreadsheet reports from the IZBR installation package.
  3. Using your preferred CSV-capable spreadsheet program, open the CSV file that you downloaded using the method in Creating a CSV data set using the IZBR ISPF panels.
  4. Copy the contents of your downloaded CSV file, and either replace or append the data in the 'Data for Pivot Chart' (or equivalent) tab of your report workbook.
  5. Refresh your data. In Excel, for example, click on the Data menu and select Refresh All. Your chart should reflect your changes.

The following is an example of the INVENTRY_excel report located in the /inquiry folder.
