Planning for deployment of Z Anomaly Analytics

Before you deploy IBM Z® Anomaly Analytics, you must plan for its installation and configuration, and ensure that your environment meets the system requirements for all components.

1. Decide what components to install and where to install them, as described in Two important decisions to make.
2. Ensure that your environment meets the software version requirements for the z/OS® systems and subsystems from which operational data is gathered, as described in Software version requirements for the z/OS systems and subsystems from which you want to gather data.
3. Ensure that your environment meets the system requirements for the IBM Z Anomaly Analytics components that you plan to deploy, and complete any prerequisite planning tasks that are described.
   • Planning for deployment of the Z Common Data Provider
     Remember: As described in Z Common Data Provider overview, the recommended configuration for log-based machine learning is to use the Data Collector component of the Z Common Data Provider for batch loading of historical SYSLOG or OPERLOG data, and use the z/OS Log Forwarder and Data Streamer components of Z Common Data Provider for near real-time streaming of the data.
