This section lists functionality, controls, portlets, properties, or other items that have been added, removed, deprecated, or changed. A release is listed in this section only if changes occurred in that release.

Release 10.15

Added Items

  • Task Engine containers now support parametrized configuration files: With parametrized templates you can modify individual properties at container startup using the Docker CLI or a customized custom_wrapper.conf file. For more information, see Task Engine User's Guide and Administering My webMethods Server.

Changed Items

  • The High-Performance Task Search (HPSTRA) module in Task Engine is updated to support Elasticsearch version 8.1.3

Removed Items

  • The Consistency configuration option for the HPSTRA module in Task Engine is removed.

Release 10.7

Added Items

  • Docker support for Task Engine on My webMethods Server and WmTaskClient: Task Engine instances, installed on My webMethods Server can be included in Docker images using the default My webMethods Server tooling, and can run in Docker containers. WmTaskClient can be containerized with Integration Server or Microservices Runtime.

  • Support for task voting in Task Engine APIs: Task voting and voting recalculation are now available through the Task Engine services.

  • Support for separate locations for Process Engine and Rules Engine: The Task Engine user interface is enhanced to support separate configurations for Process Engine and Rules Engine.

Changed Items

  • Runtime behavior of task comments and attachments with scope “process instance scope” when queued from a subprocess: When the attachments/comments scope of a task type is set to "process instance scope", and a task instance is queued by a subprocess, all comments and attachments will be available within the scope of the root (parent) process.

Release 10.5

Added Items

  • Support for archiving and searching task instances data: Task Engine instances, running on My webMethods Server now support archiving task data in a separate data source, and searching archived data.

  • Support for task voting: Task Engine instances, running on My webMethods Server now allow multiple users to accept a task and vote for a status, without making an actual status update before a preconfigured threshold is achieved.

  • New administration interface for Task Engine on Integration Server: Task Engine instances, running on Integration Server can be administered through a new web-based administration interface.

  • Publishing task projects from Designer to Integration Server: The UI development perspective in Designer supports creating task projects for Integration Server runtimes and publishing tasks to Task Engine instances, running on Integration Server.

Changed Items

  • The default view file format for task portlets: The default view file format for task portlets is changed to xhtml. Newly created views and pages now have the file name extension .xhtml and include JSF 2.x support by default.

  • UI support for votable task types: The default task portlets are enhanced to include additional UI elements to support task voting. For more information, see Task Development Help.

Release 10.4

Added Items

  • Support for using PostgreSQL with Task Engine on My webMethods Server: For more information about how to use PostgreSQL with My webMethods Server and Task Engine, see Administering My webMethods Server.

  • HPSTRA Support for Task Engine on Integration Server: Task Engine on Integration Server now supports HPSTRA indexing and searches.

  • Enhanced Command Central Support for Task Engine on Integration Server: The Task Engine plug-in for Command Central now provides additional configuration options for Task Engine instances, running on Integration Server.

Release 10.3

  • Task Engine on Integration Server: You can install and run Task Engine as a package (wmTaskEngine) on Integration Server.

Removed Items

  • Support for Axis 1.4, which is used for exposing web services from My webMethods Server, is removed. Now My webMethods Server web services use Axis 1.7.7.

  • Task Type ID selection in the Tasks Migration portlet: The Tasks Migration portlet now supports the selection of the task type ID for all supported databases.

Release 9.10

Added Item

  • webMethods Task Development now supports the String List data type when you configure task assignees with a webMethods Business Rules decision table in Software AG Designer. You can assign a task to multiple user IDs by using a String List in the assignee field of your IS document type.   • Scheduling of task instances: When you create a task instance, you can now schedule the task instance to start at a specified date and time. You specify or modify the schedule of a task instance, using Task Engine built-in services, Task Engine RESTful services, webMethods Business Console user interface.
