Software components

Software components provide function in your virtual system patterns. You can configure components and define interactions between them to create a WSRR environment that is fully operational when you deploy your pattern in the cloud.

In a deployed pattern, the constituent components become virtual machines in the virtual system instance.

WebSphere® Service Registry and Repository Pattern provides WSRR software components for a stand-alone server, deployment manager, and custom node. Additional software components that are required for creating IBM® HTTP Server instances and internal DB2® instances are also either supplied in IBM PureApplication®, or can be obtained from IBM PureSystems® Centre.

From the console, you can click Catalog > Components Definition to view further details about the software components.

Each software component in your patterns has configuration parameters, and many have default values. Although the predefined patterns are read-only, you can edit certain configuration parameters for the software components in the patterns during deployment.
