WSRR and SOA Governance
WSRR plays a key role in the end-to-end governance underpinnings of the SOA lifecycle.
WSRR supports governance of service metadata throughout the lifecycle of a service from its initial publication in a development view through deployment to service management. See the Related link.
WSRR is used in the lifecycle phases of the governance cycle:
- Enable phase. This is the most important phase, where governance policies and processes are implemented, for example to implement service lifecycle models or metadata validation rules, or to define access control for service metadata.
- Measure phase. Governance requirements are monitored and measured and WSRR information allows for the monitoring process.
- Plan phase. Governance needs are defined, for example to review existing governance functions realized in WSRR or to define the basic lifecycle model for governed entities.
- Define phase. The Governance approach is specified, for example, to capture details of the lifecycle models for service artifacts or SLAs governing service interactions.
