You can run the IBM Installation Manager directly to install WebSphere® Application Server and WSRR.
On Windows systems, you can start the Installation Manager directly, if required, rather than using the Launchpad to start it.
On Linux systems, you cannot use the Launchpad. To install interactively, run install (as root) or userinst (as a non-root user) in the DVD_ROOT/IM directory to use Installation Manager directly.
On UNIX systems, you cannot use the Launchpad, so you must start the Installation
Manager directly if you want to install interactively by using a GUI.
Installation Manager first installs itself, and then installs WebSphere Application Server and WSRR.
You must define a stand-alone server profile or a deployment manager in the Profile Management Tool or using the manageprofiles command.
