A cluster administrator prepares for and installs WebSphere Automation, sets up an identity provider, and performs any
maintenance that the foundational components require. A cluster administrator must be familiar with
Red Hat®
OpenShift® software and the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.
Procedure
- If you do not already have an instance of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
where you plan to install WebSphere Automation, see Linking Red Hat entitlements from WebSphere Automation for information about how to download and install Red Hat OpenShift software.
- Review and understand the prerequisites for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and WebSphere Automation, especially for cluster size, storage, and networking.
- Install Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. For more information, see Installing Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.
- Review other considerations as you prepare to install WebSphere Automation.
- Install WebSphere Automation by following the instructions
in the Installing documentation.
- Validate the
installation.
- Find the route to the
instance of WebSphere Automation UI.
- Ensure that you can access the WebSphere Automation UI.
- Implement an identity provider solution.
- Configure roles and
permissions for WebSphere Automation users.
- Communicate access information for WebSphere Automation,
including the URL to the login page and the preferred authentication type, to your WebSphere
administrators and other users.
- To enable the ability to automatically install fixes, set up credentials for Fix Central.
