Resynchronizing assets and artifacts in the knowledge graph
Resynchronize your assets and artifacts to ensure that you work with the up-to-date and accurate data.
As an administrator, you can resynchronize assets and artifacts, which are displayed on lineage, in relationship explorer and in categories. The most common cases when resynchronization might be necessary are as follows:
- To resolve situations where metadata becomes out of sync due to system load or anomalies.
- When you enable relationship explorer in environments that already contain large volumes of data.
You can resynchronize the following types of assets and artifacts:
- Categories
- Data protection rules (all rules are resynchronized, you can't select individual rules)
- Service level agreements (all agreements are resynchronized, you can't select individual agreements)
For the optimal performance and to avoid out-of-memory errors, run resynchronization for each asset or artifact type separately. For example, when you need to synchronize categories and data protection rules, start resynchronization for categories. When it is finished, start resynchronization for data protection rules.
- Required roles and permissions
- One of the following combinations:
- Account Administrator and predefined Manager role
- Account Administrator and
manage_catalogsandmanage_glossarypermissions if customized role is needed
To resynchronize metadata in the product user interface, complete these steps:
- From the navigation menu, go to Administration > Configurations and settings > Knowledge graph resynchronization.
- Select items to resynchronize and click Start resynchronization.
The Status column shows whether the process started successfully or failed.
Resynchronizing data by using commands
You can also resynchronize assets and artifacts by using commands. For more information, see Resync of lineage metadata.
