Assigning service ID permissions required for Data Virtualization upgrade

Prior to your Data Virtualization instance upgrade, grant the permissions necessary to take advantage of data source definitions in your newly upgraded Data Virtualization instance.

Before you begin

You must have the IAM Administrator role. For more information, see IBM Cloud IAM roles.

About this task

To take advantage of data source definitions, grant the following permissions before your instance is upgraded, otherwise the data source definitions for your Data Virtualization instance will not be automatically created upon your instance upgrade.

If you want to use data source definitions after your Data Virtualization instance is upgraded, then you need to manually create them. For more information, see Data protection with data source definitions.
