WebSphere Remote Server overview

IBM® WebSphere® Remote Server delivers a lightweight runtime for web applications for a retail store environment.

IBM WebSphere Remote Server V9.1, also know as IBM Retail Store Server, is a collection of IBM middleware products that are installed on an in-store processor in a store. WebSphere Remote Server provides a platform to build, assemble, deploy, and manage next generation solutions that support industry standards while also protecting existing solutions.

WebSphere Remote Server bundles several software products to help meet your diverse integration needs as they span varying programming models, qualities of service, and multiple data types. Retail Store Server Starter and Retail Store Server Advanced editions are designed to allow clients to select a flexible and affordable platform to meet their business, cost, and technology needs.

IBM Retail Store Server Starter Edition V9.1

IBM Retail Store Server Starter Edition provides an entry point to IBM middleware with usage restrictions and includes the following components:

  • IBM Db2® Standard Edition
IBM Retail Store Server Starter Edition with Informix Database V9.1

IBM Retail Store Server Starter Edition with Informix® Database provides an entry point to IBM middleware with usage restrictions and includes the following components:

  • IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment
  • IBM MQ Advanced
  • IBM Informix Enterprise Edition
IBM Retail Store Server Advanced Edition V9.1

Retail Store Server Advanced Edition provides an entry point to IBM middleware with no usage restrictions and includes the following components:

  • IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment
  • IBM MQ Advanced
  • IBM Db2 Standard Edition
IBM Retail Store Server Advanced with Informix Database V9.1

Retail Store Server Advanced Edition with Informix Database provides an entry point to IBM middleware with no usage restrictions and includes the following components:

  • IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment
  • IBM MQ Advanced
  • IBM Informix Enterprise Edition

The following offerings can be obtained only after you purchase one of the previous products. Permitted components can be used only with bundled programs and supporting programs.
