Creating and managing engine connections

Create, modify, or delete engine connections.

To manage engine connections, perform the following steps.

Note: You can modify or delete only engine connections that you have created.

Note: Only Administration roles can manage engine connections.

From the navigation toolbar, click Administration > Manage Engines.
Perform the required action from the engine connection panel.
You can create, edit, delete, or share an engine connection. You can also test the connection to the remote server where IBM Workload Scheduler is installed.
To sort the list of engine connections, use the sorting criteria buttons located at the top-left corner of the table.

Troubleshooting: Generic z/OS connection failure

If the Test Connection action fails with a generic error for a z/OS engine, verify the backend configuration.

Cause: A mismatch in the configuration file often results in a generic failure message rather than a specific port error.

Remedy:

Ensure that the portNumber specified in the connectionFactory.xml file matches the actual listener port of the z/OS engine.
