WTO general workstations
A WTO general workstation has the WTO option in the panel shown in Figure 2 set to Y. A WTO workstation lets you use the extensive scheduling and calendar facilities to issue a write-to-operator (WTO) message at the designated destination operator console. When an operation at a WTO workstation is started, IBM Z Workload Scheduler builds a WTO message containing the text for the operation. NetView® can then intercept the WTO message and take necessary action.
IBM Z Workload Scheduler attempts to automatically dispatch a WTO operation when it becomes ready; however, like operations at any workstation, the scheduling criteria for the operation must be met before the operation can be started.
