Working with the Support Center

To get assistance, you should phone your local IBM® Support Center. Before you contact the Support Center, however, try to ensure that the problem belongs with the Support Center. Do not worry if you cannot be sure that the problem is caused by IBM Z Workload Scheduler itself. How sure you are will depend on the complexity of your installation, the experience and skill levels of your systems staff, and the symptoms that you have been experiencing.

In practice, many errors reported to the Support Center turn out to be user errors, errors that cannot be reproduced, or errors that should be dealt with by other parts of IBM Service, such as Hardware Customer Engineering or Systems Engineering. This indicates just how difficult it can be to determine the precise cause of a problem. User errors are mainly caused by mistakes in setting up or using systems.
