This section shows how you can monitor late critical
jobs and perform incident management, by integrating IBM Z Workload Scheduler with the
following products:
IBM® Tivoli® Monitoring (ITM)
IBM SmartCloud® Control
Desk (SCCD)
Tivoli System Automation
(SA)
IBM Z Workload Scheduler schedules
jobs according to the defined current plan. ITM is configured with
a situation that sends an email notification to SCCD, when
a critical job is late.
The integrate components work as follows:
ITM detects a critical job tied to a WLM scheduling environment.
ITM sends an email causing the automatic opening of a service
request.
The SCCD operator captures the service request and runs a launch
in context of the Dynamic Workload Console,
to perform incident analysis.
The analysis confirms that a critical job is waiting for a WLM
scheduling environment.
A System Automation job is submitted through Dynamic Workload Console, to make
available the WLM scheduling environment.
As soon as the WLM scheduling environment is available, the scheduler
submits again the critical job.
The service request is closed.
