Detailed planning
The current plan is the center of IBM® Z Workload Scheduler processing. It drives the production workload automatically and provides a way to check its status. The current plan is produced by the run of batch jobs that extract from the long-term plan the occurrences that fall within the specified period of time from the job details. The current plan selects a window from the long-term plan and makes the jobs ready to be run. They are started depending on the decided restrictions (for example, dependencies, resources availability, or time-dependent jobs).
The current plan is a rolling plan that can cover several days. A common method is to cover 1 to 2 days with regular extensions each shift. Production workload processing activities are listed by minute.
You can either print the current plan as a report, or view, alter, and extend it online, by using the dialogs.
