Widgets and Datasources
A Widget is an element of the custom boards, it can be static or associated to a datasource. the Datasource is the source of information and can be created by retrieving data from a query in the plan or from Rest APIs.
Widgets can be static, such as Web content, or associated to datasources. According to the datasource you create, a different widget can be associated.
Table widget has a limit of 1000 objects but the drill down is active, therefore by clicking on the widget it is possible to see more results in the monitoring panel.
- The biggest red one represents data on critical jobs at high risk.
- The medium yellow one represents data on critical jobs at potential risk.
- The small green one represents data on critical jobs at potential risk.
Gauge Chart and KPI widgets have a simplified process of creation. You can just select the datasource and insert a name. In addition you can set notification both for thresholds and advanced properties. Notifications are also available as pop-up notifications and they can be turned off by selecting Browser notification in the drop-down list of at the top right of the navigation bar.
During the creation of a widget, at the selection of the datasource the system suggests you which datasource can be associated.
A set of default datasources are provided in the list. These datasources only retrieve data from the engine specified from the list in the dashboard. To create a datasource associated to multiple engine, you can duplicate and edit the existing datasources or create new datasources.
To customize the workstation of a Rest API datasources with a z/OS engine use the
filter WORKSTATION_NAME
.
