Viewing synoptic labels
To view the synoptic layer, enable rules for synoptic labels in the Filter Panel window.
Before you begin
- Your administrator must configure the rule types that are available for you to select in the Filter Panel window. For each rule type, your administrator configures one or more rules, and each rule is specific to an asset type. For example, a rule might impose the condition that a synoptic label is displayed for a distribution pipe if the diameter of the pipe is greater than a specified value. For more information, see Configuring synoptic labels.
- Your administrator must also configure the data that is displayed in the synoptic labels.
About this task
Select one or more rule types in the Filter Panel window. A synoptic label is displayed for an asset if the asset meets the conditions of all the rules that are configured for the asset type. An asset type can define assets such as pumping stations or geographical zones such as water catchments.
Procedure
- In the Filter Panel window, select one or more asset types to display assets of this type on the map.
- In the Filter Panel window, expand the Synoptic Labels pane.
- Select one or more rule types.
Results
- If the asset is a zone, the synoptic label is displayed in the center of the zone.
- If the synoptic label is displayed with a cluster of assets, the synoptic label's arrow indicates the asset that it refers to.
