Downloading Universal Messaging Container Images from the IBM webMethods Container Registry

About this task

Before you pull a Universal Messaging container image from the IBM webMethods container registry, make sure that you have an entitlement to use the software. You can view and pull only container images for which you have entitlement.

Procedure

  1. Go to https://containers.webmethods.io/.
  2. Log in to the IBM webMethods container registry portal with your IBMid account credentials.
  3. Follow the instructions in the prompt message to generate a registry token.
    A registry token that is associated with the IBMid user account is required to pull images from the registry. Keep the token credentials in a secure location.
  4. Open a command prompt and log in to Docker with the registry token credentials: 
    docker login -u token-name -p token-password ibmwebmethods.azurecr.io
  5. Pull the Universal Messaging container image: 
    docker pull ibmwebmethods.azurecr.io/universalmessaging-server:11.1

    The 11.1 image tag always points to the latest Universal Messaging fix release, but you can replace it with a specific version, for example, 11.1.1.
