Assigning Roles

About this task

You can assign roles in IBM webMethods Managed File Transfer only if you are an iPaaS Administrator. Managed File Transfer has three roles.
  • Managed File Transfer administrator
  • Managed File Transfer owner
  • Managed File Transfer user

You must have one of the three roles to access the Managed File Transfer application.

The Access management option in the navigation tree of the IBM webMethods Hybrid Integration home page is available only to a Service admin.

As an iPaaS administrator, follow the steps to assign the roles.

Procedure

  1. Select Access management in the left navigation window.
  2. Click Add users or select an existing user from the Users list.
  3. In the Assigned roles tab, click Assign roles.
  4. Select Services in the Resource list.
  5. Select IBM webMethods Hybrid Integration in the Subscription list.
  6. Select your environment in the Service instance list.
  7. In the Role list, select one of the following roles based on the access level you require for the user.
    • Service admin: This option provides administrator-level access to Managed File Transfer.
    • Service owner: This option provides monitoring-level access to Managed File Transfer.
    • Service user: This option provides basic user-level access to Managed File Transfer.
  8. Click Assign.
  9. Confirm the assigned role in the Assigned roles tab.
