Exporting assets

You can export virtual folders, scheduled actions, post‑processing actions, and certificates, along with their dependencies, from one Managed File Transfer cloud instance to another.

Before you begin

Managed File Transfer does not support the export or import of Users as an asset. Users who are associated with virtual folders and post processing actions cannot be exported or imported.

Procedure

  1. Go to Asset movement > Export Assets in the left side navigation tree.
  2. On the Export Assets page, select the assets to export from the tabs based on their types. By default, the Include dependencies option is enabled. If you do not want dependent assets to be included in the export file, clear the selection. Each asset shows the number of dependencies that it contains. To view the full list of dependent assets, click the number that is displayed against the assets.
  3. After selecting the assets, click Add to export list and click Next. When you select a virtual folder, all child virtual folders are automatically chosen by default, while the parent virtual folder is not included in the selection.
  4. On the Export assets page, the assets are mentioned under their own respective tabs. Verify the final export set and click Next. You can remove assets during the verification of the final export set.
  5. Specify a name for the export file and click Finish.Managed File Transfer downloads the exported assets in the form of a compressed file. The location of the downloaded file depends on your browser configuration.
  6. Managed File Transfer provides the option to export all assets. Select the Export all option to download all the assets. You cannot specify the file name, while opting to use the Export all option.
