Scheduling Database Archival
Scheduling the archiving of the database enables automation of regular archival routines of your production database. Archiving the database regularly prevents data overload, streamlines database performance, and significantly reduces database degradation due to high volumes of data.
Following are the steps to schedule archiving the database in IBM® webMethods Managed File Transfer:
- Go to Database archival and click
. - Select the Schedule database archival checkbox.
- In the dialog box titled Database archive settings, provide the following
details:
Field Description Retention period (days) Type in the number of days to retain the transaction data file in the production database before it is archived in the archive database. Time By default, IBM webMethods Managed File Transfer schedules archiving the database every 24 hours. Specify the time for archiving the database. Your account settings govern the time format and time zone for archiving the database. 
Note: Scheduled archiving of the database is the default database archival mechanism in the upcoming releases of IBM webMethods Managed File Transfer with a reduced limit for the Retention period.
