Getting started for users

As a Managed File Transfer user, you have access to all enabled Managed File Transfer functions. To get started, you can activate or deactivate a listener, add a virtual folder, or add a post-processing or scheduled action.

Before you begin

You must have the MFT user role. For more information, see Roles.

Procedure

  1. Activate or deactivate a listener.
When you activate a listener, Managed File Transfer prepares to perform file operations. Deactivating the listener stops the file operations.
  2. Configuring additional settings for a virtual folder.
Information that is stored across multiple remote file systems is displayed as a cohesive data collection in the virtual folders.
  3. Configure the virtual folders.
The virtual folders settings enable customization of partner settings, location preferences, and user access levels for viewing, downloading, uploading, and deleting files and folders.
  4. Define a post-processing action.
The post-processing action runs when a file is uploaded, downloaded, or deleted.
  5. Define a scheduled action for execution at a specific date and time.
Scheduled actions automate file operations according to a predefined schedule, ensuring timely and efficient data exchange.
