Deploying Packages and Configuration Assets to webMethods Cloud Container

About this task

Using Software AG Designer you can deploy Integration Server packages and configuration assets to Cloud Container.
Before deploying packages and configuration assets to Cloud Container, ensure the following:

  • Designer is configured to connect to Cloud Container using the Cloud Container preference page. For more information on configuring a connection to Cloud Container, see Connecting to webMethods Cloud Container.

  • Software AG Designer is configured to connect to Command Central. Use the Landscape Navigator view to connect to Command Central. For more information on Landscape Navigator view and connecting to Command Central, see Using Landscape Navigator to View Runtime Configurations (Deprecated).

  • Command Central is connected to Integration Server and Universal Messaging instances.

  • To deploy Integration Server packages and configurations or Universal Messaging configurations to Cloud Container, configure Designer to connect to Integration Server or Universal Messaging.
Note: Command Central is deprecated. It is recommended that you use Integration Server or Universal Messaging to deploy packages and configuration assets to Cloud Container.

The following procedure explains how to deploy packages and configuration assets only to Cloud Container. If you want to deploy, refresh, or remove the packages and configuration assets from Cloud Container, use the Asset Repository view in Software AG Designer. For more details, see Asset Repository.

To deploy assets to Cloud Container

Procedure

  1. In Package Navigator view, select the Integration Server package that you want to deploy to Cloud Container.
  2. Right-click the package and click Deploy to Cloud.
  3. In the Select the Cloud Container Solution dialog box, select the solution on Cloud Container to which you want to deploy the assets and click Next.
    Note: If the Cloud Container landscape model contains more than one Integration Server, Designer displays them in the Select the Cloud Container Product Landscape dialog box. Select Integration Server for deployment, and click Next.
  4. In the Publish Assets to Cloud Container dialog box, select the package to deploy. You can select multiple packages.
    If you want to publish the configuration assets along with the selected Integration Server package, select Include runtime configurations, click Next, and go to step 5. Otherwise, click Next and go to step 6.
    Designer fetches the configuration data from Integration Server or Universal Messaging.
  5. In the Configuration Selection dialog box, select the configuration that you want to deploy and click Next.
    If a configuration exists on the on-premise or cloud environment, Designer shows a tick mark () against the check box under the On-prem or Cloud column in the Configuration Selection dialog box. When you clear a check box or configuration, which already exists on the on-premise or cloud environment, Designer removes the configuration from that environment. Designer also displays a delete mark () for the configuration when you open the dialog box again.
  6. In the Integration Server Package Variable Substitution dialog box, select the package and edit the value of the property that you want to modify before deploying to the cloud environment. Click Finish.

    To use the value of an environment variable as the substitution value, specify the substitution value as: ${ENV_VARIABLE} where ENV_VARIABLE is the name of a defined environment variable. If you specify an environment variable that does not exist, ${ENV_VARIABLE} will be retained and used in the configuration.

    Designer deploys the assets and configurations to a remote repository provisioned for the tenant on Cloud Container.
  7. In the Integration Server Runtime Variable Substitution dialog box, select the runtime configuration and edit the value of the property that you want to modify before deploying to the cloud environment. Click Finish.
    Designer deploys the assets and configurations to a remote repository provisioned for the tenant on Cloud Container.

Checking the Deployment Status

About this task

After you deploy the assets to Cloud Container, you can check the deployment status.

To check the deployment status

Procedure

  1. In the Service Development perspective of Designer, select Window > Show View > Other.
  2. In the Show View dialog box, select webMethods Service Development > Deployment Status.
  3. Click Open.
    Designer displays the Deployment Status view with the current deployment status of the assets.
    Note:
    • To reload the deployment status, click .
    • To remove a specific deployment status, select the asset under the Asset Name, and click .
