Syncing project variables

Variable synchronization makes sure that the configuration values remain consistent between your local project and Cloud Designtime to maintain reliable, secure, and predictable behavior across environments.

Before you begin

By default, when you add variables in a project, the variables are updated in Cloud Designtime. If the variable values are not in sync with Cloud Designtime, a warning icon is displayed next to the variable name. In this case, you need to explicitly do an update operation to sync those variables with Cloud Designtime.
Note: The warning icon is not displayed when password fields are updated.

Use the Sync variables option to sync all variables simultaneously.

Procedure

  1. Go to the project in which you want to add a variable, click Configurations > General > Variables.
A list of existing variables appears.
  2. Identify the variables that must be synchronized and click Edit.
The Edit variable dialog is displayed.
  3. Update the value of the variable. If you want to use any predefined values, then toggle the Select from vault button to enable.
  4. Select Set as password field to mask the variable's value.
  5. Click Update variable.
A confirmation message appears, and the value is updated. Also, the variables are synchronized with Cloud Designtime. You can use the project variables in your integrations.
