Lock and unlock flow services
Use Lock and Unlock feature to manage a flow service during the development lifecycle. Flow services are automatically locked when you begin editing to prevent simultaneous modifications. It is only to make sure that data integrity is maintained and avoids conflicts during development.
Key points to remember when using Lock and Unlock feature.
- When you start editing a flow service, the system locks it automatically. Other users can still view the flow service while it remains unlocked. After you save your changes and exit edit mode, the system unlocks it, allowing others to edit it.
- If another user tries to delete a locked flow service, the system displays a message saying that the deletion is not allowed.
- If your session becomes idle or disconnected and the lock remains active, only an Admin can manually unlock the flow service.
- To unlock a flow service manually.
- On the flow service card, click the More options icon.
- Click Unlock.
- When you unlock a flow service as an Admin,
- The original user loses editing access.
- Any unsaved changes are discarded.
- All users currently viewing or editing the flow service receives a notification that you have unlocked it.
- Working with multiple tabs.
- If you open the same flow service in different tabs, changes that are made in one tab do not automatically appear in the others.
- Refresh each tab to view the latest updates.
- Accessing the same flow service from different browsers or users.
When another user opens a flow service that is already being edited, the system shows a notification indicating that someone else is currently editing it.
