Remapping virtual runtimes

Remap virtual runtimes from one runtime to another valid runtime.

Before you begin

You can remap virtual runtimes only if the runtime is in the Ready state. Make sure that the runtime is active before you start the remapping.

About this task

You can remap virtual runtimes from one runtime to any other valid runtime.

For example, when a runtime is deregistered, the referenced services cannot be deployed as the associated runtime does not exist. You need to remap the affected services and virtual runtimes to a valid runtime. You can remap the virtual runtime during deployment or from the project‑runtime view without altering the underlying assets.

Procedure

  1. Go to Projects and select a project.
  2. Click the Runtimes tab.
    The Runtimes page s displayed.
  3. Click any runtime that is not in a ready state and click Remap runtime.
Note: You can also remap multiple runtimes by selecting multiple runtimes and clicking Remap.
The Remap all virtual runtimes is displayed.
  4. Select the Move all virtual runtimes and referencing services to the target runtime.
All the referenced services and virtual runtimes, and unused virtual runtimes are selected.
  5. Select the target runtime from the Move to runtime menu.
  6. Optional: Select the Sync target runtime to link all referencing services to sync all the referencing services.
  7. Click Remap or Remap and sync runtime.
All the virtual runtimes are remapped to the target runtime. If the sync runtime option is selected in step 6, then the virtual runtimes are synced.
