How It Works

You can request a custom domain name for your tenant. For example, if your company domain is abc.com, you can have the domain name as https://subdomain.abc.com. Contact IBM® support for details on how to enable and configure the custom domain capability.

Subdomain Name Prerequisites

Before requesting for a custom domain, you must ensure that -

  • The subdomain name should not contain periods (for example, abc.xyz), as the IBM webMethods End-to-End Monitoring truncates the rest of the string after encountering the first period in the subdomain name.
  • The length of the subdomain name must not exceed 20 characters.
  • The requested subdomain name must be unique and available.

Steps to configure custom domains

  1. Determine the number of domains to be configured for your account and the list of custom domains. You own the domain names.
  2. Decide the SSL certificate needed, which depends on whether you want to protect:
    • A single domain or
    • Multiple subdomains of a domain or
    • Multiple domain names.
  3. Share the number of domains to be configured for your account and the list of custom domains with IBM.
  4. IBM creates a certificate signing request (CSR) and shares the details with you.
  5. Based on the CSR, get the SSL certificates from a certificate authority (CA) and determine the number and type of domains you need protected by the certificates.
  6. Send the SSL certificates to IBM to configure the certificates on the load balancer of the custom domain.
  7. IBM sends you the CNAME. Using the CNAME, configure your DNS to point to the load balancer of the custom domain.
  8. After the configuration is complete, you can use the custom domain to access IBM webMethods End-to-End Monitoring.
Note:
  • Contact IBM support for information on allowing the custom domain network load balancer (NLB) IP addresses and the ports to open.

Check for existing assets after configuring custom domains

  • External endpoints will change after the custom domain is configured, so you need to inform your partners about the new domain.
