Change ownership of assets

Assets such as APIs and applications in webMethods API Gateway have an option where the ownership of the asset can be changed. Applications have confidential data like API key and client certificates, which only the owner can view. Therefore, if the owner of an asset must take up a different responsibility or leave the organization, no other user can view the secrets of the asset. You can use the edit option available on the asset details page to enable transfer of ownership of the asset to another user. This change in ownership allows the new owner of the asset to access or view the confidential data of the asset. webMethods API Gateway provides an option to configure an approval process for the assets' ownership change. Approval and auditing contribute to the governance of change ownership.

You must have Change owner or team privilege to perform the task.

Configure and enable the change owner approval process if you want to enforce an approval process for ownership changes of assets. For details about configuring the approval process, see Approval configuration.
