Publishing APIs to Developer Portal

Publishing an API to webMethods Developer Portal sends the SOAP and REST APIs to webMethods Developer Portal on which they are exposed for testing and user consumption.

The process of publishing an API to webMethods Developer Portal is initiated from webMethods API Gateway and is carried out on the webMethods Developer Portal server.

Note: webMethods API Gateway does not support publishing GraphQL API to webMethods Developer Portal.

Publishing an API to webMethods Developer Portal involves the following high-level steps:

  • Step 1- Initiate the publish process by selecting the API to be published. Specify the API endpoints to be visible to the consumers, and the webMethods Developer Portal communities in which the API is to be published.
  • Step 2- webMethods API Gateway publishes the API to each of the specified webMethods Developer Portal communities.
  • Step 3- During bulk publishing of APIs, the process continues even if webMethods API Gateway encounters a failure with webMethods Developer Portal.

When you publish an API to the webMethods Developer Portal destination, keep the following points in mind:

  • The Developer Portal destination must be configured in webMethods API Gateway.
  • You must have the Publish to webMethods Developer Portal functional privilege.
  • You cannot publish an API if it is in an inactive state. Activate the API before publishing.
