Deleting APIs

When you delete an API, the API is permanently removed from API Gateway.

About this task

When you delete an API, keep the following points in mind.

  • You cannot delete an API if it is in an active state. Deactivate the API before you delete the API.
  • You must have the Manage APIs functional privilege.
  • When you delete an API, performance metrics and event information of the API are deleted.

Procedure

  1. Open the menu options and select APIs.
    A list of all APIs appears.
  2. You can delete a single API or multiple APIs as follows.
    • To delete a single API, click the Delete icon for the API that you want to delete.
    • To delete multiple APIs, select the APIs that you want to delete and click Delete in the menu options.
  3. Select the Force delete option to delete an API forcefully.
    webMethods API Gateway ignores any failures even if the API is used by other applications, and clears all data from the webMethods API Gateway database.
  4. Click Yes in the confirmation dialog.
    The APIs are deleted successfully.
