Default processing rules

The default processing rule matches with an inbound document that has the following parameters:

  • Any known or unknown sender
  • Any known or unknown receiver
  • Any known or unknown type of business document
  • Any user status
  • A document that has errors

Pre-processing actions in the default processing rule indicate that webMethods B2B Integration must use the settings in the document. The default rule is not editable.

Any document that webMethods B2B Integration receives, meets the criteria of the default rule.

Note: Keep the default rule as the last rule on the Processing rules page when no search criterion is applied.

Unknown document and unknown partners

A document is considered an unknown document when it does not match any of the supported business documents or if it matches with multiple types of business documents.

webMethods B2B Integration considers the sender as an unknown partner when one of your partners sends a document but webMethods B2B Integration cannot determine the sender. For example, the document is unknown and the sender attribute is not extracted.

However, you can also create a processing rule over the default processing rule for webMethods B2B Integration to process all the inbound document that is of unknown type.

To search for documents with unknown partners, search for unknown. The search is not case-sensitive.
