Enabling the Voice of Customer annotator

IBM® Content Analytics with Enterprise Search provides a sample annotator for extracting and indexing voice of the customer patterns from text. The sample Voice of Customer annotator supports English and Japanese.

You might want to capture voice of the customer patterns, for example, if you need to evaluate customer feedback. By enabling this annotator, you can explore Voice of Customer facets in the content analytics miner. By quickly identifying customer concerns, you can transform the feedback into actionable information and take steps to increase customer satisfaction.

To enable this annotator for a collection:

  1. Log in as the default IBM Content Analytics with Enterprise Search administrator on the controller server.
  2. Edit the ES_NODE_ROOT/master_config/collection_ID.indexservice/category_tree.xml file, where collection_ID identifies the content analytics collection where you want to enable voice of customer pattern analysis. Change the visible attribute of the _voc category to true.
  3. Copy the files in the adic directory to the ES_NODE_ROOT/master_config/collection_ID.indexservice/resource/adic directory.
  4. Copy the files in the pattern directory to the ES_NODE_ROOT/master_config/collection_ID.indexservice/resource/pattern directory.
  5. In the administration console, start or restart the parse and index services for the collection, and then deploy or redeploy the analytic resources. To apply voice of customer pattern analysis to previously indexed documents, rebuild the index from the document cache.
