Managing engines

You can manage engines from the Infrastructure manager page.

Use the Infrastructure manager page to manage your engines. You can perform these actions from either the list view or the topology view.

Editing engine details

Edit the display name, description, and tags of an engine.

To edit engine details in list view:

  1. Click the name of the engine. The Engine information window opens.
  2. In the Details tab, click Edit.
  3. In the Display name field, enter the display name for the engine.
  4. In the Description field, enter the description of the engine or edit the existing description.
  5. In the Tags field, select the tags from the list or start typing to define a new tag.
  6. Click Save.

To edit engine details in topology view:

  1. Click the engine. The Engine information window opens.
  2. In the Details tab, click Edit.
  3. In the Display name field, enter the display name for the engine.
  4. In the Description field, enter the description of the engine or edit the existing description.
  5. In the Tags field, select the tags from the list or start typing to define a new tag.
  6. Click Save.

Scaling an engine

Adjust the number of nodes for an engine to meet your workload requirements.

To scale an engine in list view:

  1. Click the overflow menu icon at the end of the row and click Scale.
  2. In the Scale engine window, move the slider to set the number of required nodes.
  3. Click Scale.

To scale an engine in topology view:

  1. Hover over the engine that you want to scale and click the Scale icon.
  2. In the Scale engine window, move the slider to set the number of required nodes.
  3. Click Scale.

Pausing an engine

Pause an engine to temporarily stop it without deleting it.

To pause an engine in list view:

  1. Click the overflow menu icon at the end of the row and click Pause. A pause confirmation dialog appears.
  2. Click Pause.

To pause an engine in topology view:

  1. Hover over the engine that you want to pause and click the Pause icon. A pause confirmation dialog appears.
  2. Click Pause.

Resuming an engine

Resume a paused engine to restart it and continue processing queries.

To resume an engine in list view:

  1. Click the overflow menu icon at the end of the row and click Resume.

To resume an engine in topology view:

  1. Hover over the engine that you want to resume and click the Resume icon.

Deleting an engine

Delete an engine when it is no longer needed.

To delete an engine in list view:

  1. Click the overflow menu icon at the end of the row and click Delete. A delete confirmation dialog appears.
  2. Click Delete.

To delete an engine in topology view:

  1. Hover over the engine that you want to delete and click the Delete icon. A delete confirmation dialog appears.
  2. Click Delete.
