Creating a data product
You can easily create Data products from curated data assets such as schemas and tables within the Data Workbench. These Data products can be published to IBM Data Product Hub, enabling broader access, governance, and reuse across the organization.

- To create a draft data product, you must have the Editor or Admin role in the Data Product Hub community.
Procedure
After exploring the relevant schemas and tables that contain the data you want to package into a Data product, you can run SQL queries on the selected tables to refine or validate the data before creating a product out of it.

Log in to the watsonx.data experience.

From your project's Assets page, click New Asset.

Under Data Engineering, select the Manage, curate, and query data with SQL Workbench tile. The Workbench page opens. Click the New data product draft link from the Workbench page.

The Create data product draft page opens. In the page, provide the following details:
- Name : Enter a meaningful name for your Data product.
- Engine : Select the engine. The tables available for querying gets listed.
- Select up to 20 tables that needs to be included in the Data product.

Click Create draft. The data product is created in draft mode.

When the draft data product is created, you can switch to the Data Fabric experience to view the data product in Data product Hub. Click View draft. To return to the watsonx.data experience, click the Switch platforms icon and select IBM watsonx.data.
