Getting started with watsonx.data

Start working

Your administrator provides you with your log in information.

To start working, click the tile on the watsonx.data home page that fits your goals.

Switching between the console and platform UIs

IBM watsonx.data provides two user interfaces: the console UI and the platform UI. If your installed service is IBM watsonx.data Premium, you have access to both UIs. If your installed service is watsonx.data, you have access to the console UI. To understand the differences between the UIs, see Differences between UIs.

To switch from one UI to the other:

• To switch from the console UI to the platform UI, select watsonx from the navigation menu.
• To switch from the platform UI to the console UI, click Go to admin console in the Quick start tile on the home page.

Setting up infrastrastructure components for administrators

After installing the watsonx.data service, complete the following tasks:

• Provision an instance of a Presto engine. See Provisioning a Presto (Java) engine or Provisioning a Presto (C++) engine.
• Add the other infrastructure components that your organization needs. See Managing infrastructure.
• Add users to each infrastructure component. See Managing user access.
