Teradata database for DataStage connector

Use the Teradata database for DataStage connector in DataStage® in parallel and server jobs to read, write, or look up data in Teradata databases.

Note: This feature is not available on IBM Power (ppc64le).

Prerequisite

Create the connection. For instructions, see Connecting to a data source in DataStage and the Teradata database for DataStage connection.

Bulk access method

You can set the access method to Bulk mode to perform a parallel bulk insert of high-volume data.

Configuring the Bulk access method
  1. In the General target properties section, set the Access method to Bulk.
  2. In the Load type field, select one of the following options:

    Load type Properties
    Load
    • Use this type for fast loading of the high-volume data.
    • Cannot load tables with secondary indexes.
    • Cannot load views.
    • Uses one of the utility slots.
    Update
    • Can load tables with non-unique secondary indexes.
    • Can load views.
    • Uses one of the utility slots.
    Stream
    • Can load tables with both unique and non-unique secondary indexes.
    • Can load views.
    • Does not use one of the utility slots.

SQL statement

SQL statement for read and write operations can be stored in the IBM watsonx platform cluster and the file path can be provided in the connector properties.
