Configuring test data storage

Connection types that you can use for a DataStage® test data connector are:
  • Storage volume,
  • Google Cloud Storage,
  • IBM Cloud® Object Storage,
  • Microsoft Azure Blob Storage,
  • Generic S3.
Creating a connection to your storage volume.
  1. Open a project that you want to create a connection for.
  2. On the Assets tab, click New Asset > Connect to a data source.
  3. Select one of the storage connection types that are available for test cases:
    • Storage volume
    • Google Cloud Storage
    • IBM Cloud Object Storage
    • Microsoft Azure Blob Storage
    • Generic S3
Using a storage volume connection.
  1. In the Created connection: Storage volume page, type a name and an optional description for your connection.
  2. Select an available storage volume.
  3. In Personal credentials > Input method, select Enter creadentials manually.
  4. Check the Use my platform login credentials box and click Test connection.
  5. Click Save.

Configuring DataStage to use your test data connection for storing test case assets.

  1. Open Manage > Tools > DataStage > Test cases.
  2. In Test data connection type select Storage volume.
  3. Select the Storage volume that you want to store test data in.
  4. For Default DataStage Test case job suffix, you can use the automatically added suffix or specify a new one to distinguish your test case jobs from their associated flows.

You can now create a DataStage test case.
