About this task
To provision a Presto (Java) engine, complete the following steps.
Procedure
- Log in to watsonx.data
console.
- From the navigation menu, select Infrastructure
Manager.
- Click Add component, select IBM Presto, and click
Next.
- In the Add
component - IBM Presto window, provide the following details to sign up new compute to
work with your data:

Select the engine size:
- Custom: With Custom size, Presto (Java) engine has a single-node baseline
deployment. For more information about customization, see Customizing components.
- Starter: Includes 1x Presto worker with 1 vCPU, 16G memory.
- Small: Includes 10x Presto worker with 6 vCPU, 48G memory.
- Medium: Includes 10x Presto worker with 15 vCPU, 112G memory.
- Large: Includes 10x Presto worker with 31 vCPU, 240G memory.
- X-Large: Includes 17x Presto worker with 63 vCPU, 496G memory.
- XX-Large: Includes 25x Presto worker with 127 vCPU, 1008G memory.
