Installation Guide for watsonx Code Assistant for Z On Prem

The following list provides all the necessary information that is needed to install all components and dependencies of watsonx Code Assistant™ for Z On Prem.

Prerequisites

  1. Install a Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform cluster. For more information, see Setting up a cluster for IBM Cloud Pak for Data.
  2. Prepare your cluster for watsonx Code Assistant by changing the timeout settings of the load balancer. For more information, see Changing load balancer timeout settings.
  3. Install the IBM Cloud Pak for Data control plane. For more information, see Installing the IBM Cloud Pak for Data control plane.
  4. Determine which size of watsonx Code Assistant for Z you need by referencing the Component scaling guide. For instructions on how to download this good, see Downloading the component scaling guidance PDF from the IBM Entitled Registry.

watsonx Code Assistant for Z components and dependencies

  1. For instructions on how to install, use, and administer IBM® watsonx Code Assistant for Z on Cloud Pak for Data, see watsonx Code Assistant for Z on Cloud Pak for Data.
  2. Setup and configure watsonx Code Assistant for Z on Cloud Pak for Data by referencing Installing watsonx Code Assistant service on perm through Cloud Pak for Data.
  3. Set up the Db2 Database.
  4. Install IBM Application Discovery and Delivery Intelligence for IBM Z®. For more information on prerequisites and installation instruction, see Installing.
  5. Install and set up Z Refactoring Assistant. For more information on prerequisites, preparatory configurations, and instructions for Z Refactoring Assistant, see Installing.
  6. Set up VS Code. For more information, see Set up a development environment.
