This section lists and describes the error codes and error messages that appear while using the code generation feature.

The request you've made requires a watsonx Code Assistant™ plan. Please contact your administrator or sign up for an individual plan.

  • Potential cause: This error code indicates that the user has entered a prompt that is not supported by Z and was passed to WCA (non-Z) for processing, but the user does not have a plan or entitlement to WCA (non-Z).
  • Debugging checks: View the logs and confirm that the Detected Language and Detected Operation logs are not unsupported.
  • Potential solution: It is possible that the user's chat message was not detailed enough. For example, if they are making a request about COBOL, it could help to add the word COBOL in the chat message.

Error: Cannot use watsonx Code Assistant

When you login to watsonx Code Assistant using a Z API key, the following false expected error is displayed.

Cannot use watsonx Code Assistant. Your administrator needs to associate you with a deployment space before you can use watsonx Code Assistant. Contact your system administrator to proceed further. Select 'Log out' to switch to a different API key.

Cannot use watsonx Code Assistant error message.

Potential solution: You can dismiss the error message and proceed to use Chat Experience.
