Creating a job requisition and sending for approval

In this tutorial, you learn how to use the Hiring manager skill in SAP SuccessFactors to create a job requisition and obtain approval.

SAP SuccessFactors, a cloud-based human capital management (HCM) solution, facilitates the streamlining of HR functions. You can use watsonx Orchestrate to automate these HR processes.

Hiring manager skill

As a Hiring manager, you can create the job requisition, include the job description, and send it for approval. You can enhance the job requisition by adding screening questions and specifying the necessary candidate competencies.

Required skills

To use the Hiring manager skill to get the optimal results, you need to add the following skills.

  • Create a Job requisition
  • Attach a job description
  • View the Job descriptions
  • Add a competency
  • Add a candidate screening question
  • Send a job requisition for approval

Before you begin

Before you start, make sure that you meet the following requirements:

Important: Before you use the Hiring manager skill, ensure that you are connected to the necessary skills to receive the most suitable skill suggestions.

Connecting to Talent Acquisition SAP SuccessFactors

Complete the following steps to connect to Talent Acquisition SAP SuccessFactors.

  1. Log in to watsonx Orchestrate.

  2. From the Chat page, click Add skills from catalog.

  3. From All Apps, select Talent Acquisition SAP SuccessFactors.

  4. In the Talent Acquisition SAP SuccessFactors page, click the required app, for example, "Talent Acquisition - Create a job requisition".

  5. Click Connect app.

  6. Specify the following connection details.

    Username: The username to connect to your SAP SuccessFactors instance.

    Password: The password for the specified username.

  7. Click Connect app.

Connecting to Talent Acquisition (RPA) SAP SuccessFactors

Complete the following steps to connect to Talent Acquisition (RPA) SAP SuccessFactors.

  1. Log in to watsonx Orchestrate.

  2. From the Chat page, click Add skills from catalog.

  3. From All Apps, select Talent Acquisition (RPA) SAP SuccessFactors.

  4. In the Talent Acquisition (RPA) SAP SuccessFactors page, click the required app, for example, Talent Acquisition (RPA) - Attach a job description.

  5. Click Connect app.

  6. Specify the following connection details.

    Username: The username to connect to your RPA instance.

    Password: The password for the specified username.

  7. Click Connect app.

Adding Hiring manager skill to your skill set

  • From the Talent Acquisition SAP SuccessFactors page, select the Hiring manager app.
  • Click Add skill + on the skill tile to add the Hiring manager skill to your skill set.

Creating Job requisition

To create a Job requisition, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Chat page, click the Hiring manager skill tile or enter a phrase to run the Hiring manager skill. For example,: Show the home page of Hiring manager skill.

  1. Click Apply.
  2. Select the next best action as Create a job requisition.
  3. In the Create a job requisition form, complete the required fields.
  4. Click Apply.

Quick checkpoint! A job requisition is created in SAP SuccessFactors and the job requisition ID is shown as the result in the chat bar. Now, you can add a job description to the job requisition created.

Adding a job description

  1. Select the next best action as Add a job description.
  2. Verify the Job requisition ID. The job requisition ID is auto-populated.
  3. Specify the Internal job description and External job description.
  4. Click Apply.

Quick checkpoint! The job description is successfully added to the job requisition. Use View the job description skill to verify the job description.

Viewing job description

  1. Select the next best action as View the job description.
  2. Verify the Job requisition ID. The job requisition ID is autopopulated.
  3. Click Apply.

Adding competencies

  1. Select the next best action as Add a competency.
  2. Select a competency from the drop-down list.
  3. Verify the Job requisition ID. The job requisition ID is autopopulated.
  4. Click Apply.

Quick checkpoint! After you successfully add the competencies, you can add candidate-screening questions that are required for the job.

Adding screening questions

  1. Select the next best action As a hiring manager add a candidate-screening question.
  2. Verify the Job requisition ID. The job requisition ID is autopopulated.
  3. Specify the Question serial number.
  4. Enter the Screening question.
  5. Click Apply.

Quick checkpoint! After you add the candidate-screening question, you can either send the job requisition for approval or continue to add other competencies required.

Sending for approval

  1. Select the next best action as Send a job requisition for approval.
  2. Verify the Job requisition ID. The job requisition ID is autopopulated.
  3. Click Apply.

Results

The new job requisition with the job description, competencies, and candidate-screening questions are sent for approval to the recruiting manager.
