Switching from agentic experience to skills experience
New watsonx Orchestrate tenants on AWS and IBM Cloud are provisioned with the agentic experience. If required, you can switch from the agentic experience to the skills-based experience before configuring or using the tenant.
Following are the steps to switch to the skills-based experience:
- Ensure the tenant is unused
Avoid setting up, or changing the tenant instance until the conversion process is complete.
- Retrieve your tenant CRN
To know the Cloud resource name (CRN) ID, log in to watsonx Orchestrate. Click Profile > About. Copy the crn
ID from the about page.
- Submit a request to IBM support
Raise a ticket with IBM support to switch to the skills-based experience. Provide the crn
ID in the watsonx Orchestrate tenant id field in the support ticket.
- Wait for confirmation
IBM support and engineering teams process your request. Your tenant settings are updated based on the CRN provided. IBM support will notify you after your tenant is ready for the switch.

Switch to skill-based experience
a. After you receive the notification, log in to the tenant.
b. Navigate to the profile menu > Settings > Chat version.
c. Click Switch to AI chat to transition to the skills experience.
d. Log out and log back in to see the skills-based interface.
