Amazon SES

Amazon SES (Amazon Simple Email Service) is an email service that you can use to send and receive email by using your own email addresses and domains in a cost-effective manner. This document describes how to connect IBM watsonx Orchestrate to Amazon SES and use its skills on watsonx Orchestrate.

Connecting to Amazon SES

Connect to the app according to the credential type that you or your team want to use.

If you want to connect the app to the Orchestrate Agent skill set, skill sets from AI assistants, or the Team skill set with Team credentials, refer to Managing app connections.

If you want to connect to the app to the Personal skill set ot the Team skill set with Member credentials, refer to Connecting to apps.

Configuring the connection

To connect watsonx Orchestrate to Amazon SES, complete the following steps:

  1. Click Connect app.
  2. You are prompted to enter the following connection details:
    • Secret access key: It is the secret access key of your Amazon SES account. Get the secret access key from the Security Credentials page in the AWS Management Console.
    • Access key ID: It is the access key ID of your Amazon SES account. Get the access key ID from the Security Credentials page in the AWS Management Console.
    • Region: Select the region of your Amazon SES instance from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click Connect app.
Note: The icon A green check icon appears to show that the app is connected. indicates that the connection was successfully established.

Retrieving Secret access key and Access key ID

You can get the secret access key and access key ID from the credentials page in the AWS Management Console. To obtain connection values for Amazon SES, complete the following steps.

  1. Sign in to your Amazon Web Services account.
  2. You can find the value for the region parameter at the end of the URL when you are logged in to the AWS Management Console (for example, https://us-east-2.console.aws.amazon.com/console/home?region=us-east-2#).
  3. To find values for the Secret access key and Access key ID parameters, click your account name on the navigation bar and select My Security Credentials.
  4. Existing access key IDs are listed on the AWS IAM Credentials tab. To create an access key, click Create access key, then click Download credentials to download the access key ID and secret access key.

If necessary, work with your Amazon SES administrator to obtain these values.
