Migrating skills from the legacy chat

Overview

You can migrate the skills that you have already created in your legacy chat into the AI chat. That way, you can ensure that your skills can be used with your AI agent, and integrate your existing workflow into a new chat experience.

Benefits of migrating skills from the legacy chat

  • Powered by large language models (LLMs)
The LLMs in AI chat enable your customers to interact with the assistants seamlessly without relying on custom-built conversational steps. This provides more flexibility to your agents, and makes it easier to engage with new customers without changing much of the existing skills. For more information, see Using LLM in AI chat.

  • AI Assistant support
In the new chat experience, you can interact with AI assistants built with the AI assistant builder. AI assistants support skill-based actions, which are the skills that you use to trigger actions in specific contexts. For more information, see Adding skills to the AI chat.

  • Customizable prompts
You can customize the starter prompts to help your customers to get started on specific use cases. For more information, see Customizing the starter prompts.

  • Embeddable chat interface
You can embed a generated script element in the HTML source of the website. For more information, see Embedding the AI chat in a page.

Before you begin

To migrate skills from the legacy chat, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Tenant must have access to the AI chat preview.

  • You must have a builder or admin role.

  • Admins must have available functional IDs or shared credentials to the applications of skills that they are migrating. Skills that use only personal credentials cannot be migrated.

  • Identify the skills that you want to migrate to the AI chat.

  • For the skills to appear in the Apps and skills catalog, admins must connect to the apps on Manage team > Skill sets > Orchestrate Agent skill set.

Collaboration between users and builders or admins is important during the migration to make sure all relevant skills migrate and limitations are evident.
