Chat history

The chat history helps you to view the chat conversations within the watsonx Orchestrate chat interface. This feature includes methods to access past conversations and clear chat history.

Viewing chat history

You can see a record of previous conversations for reference. To view the chat history:

  1. From the main menu menu, click Chat.
  2. Scroll through the chat interface to review the conversations organized chronologically.

Clearing chat history

You can clear the chat history to remove older conversations. To clear the chat history:

  1. Click the Clear chat history icon icon on the chat interface to clear the chat history.

  2. You see a confirmation window to Clear the chat history.

    If you have tasks in progress and results, select the Stop the tasks and remove the results when deleting the chat history option to stop these tasks and delete the results.

  3. Click Clear history. The chat history gets permanently deleted.

Chat retention policies

The chat retention policies determine how long your chat history is stored and how they are deleted, ensuring compliance with safeguarding user privacy and data security.

  • Chat messages remain available for 30 days. Messages older than 30 days are automatically deleted and become inaccesible.
  • If your access to IBM watsonx Orchestrate is removed from the tenant, all chat history associated with your account is deleted permanently.
