Managing app connections
To run skills, connect to the apps in the AI assistants, skill sets, or AI chat that your team intends to use.
Before you begin
The resources that use the connections that you establish with an app might have considerations that you must consider before you proceed.
General considerations:
- If you haven't set a credential type for an app, the credential type shows as "Not specified" and an error is displayed when users run the skills.
- Your skill flow fails to run if the parent app of the skill does not have its credential type set. The error lists the apps for which the credential type must be specified. Set the credential type for the listed apps.
For AI assistants:
- Only a Team credential type can be specified for a skill-based action. If a Member credential type is specified for a skill-based action, an error message "You aren't connected" is displayed.
- Prebuilt and imported skills become available in the AI assistant catalog only after admins or builders connect them to their corresponding apps in the AI assistant.
- Admins or builders must connect to the app on both the draft and live environments of the AI assistant.
For AI agents:
- Only a Team credential type can be specified for Orchestrate Agent Skillset.
- Admins or builders must enable the AI chat as the default chat of the tenant before they proceed with the app connections. For more information, see Switching the chat experience.
The credential types
Each app in the skill sets available can have a credential type set as either Member credentials or Team credentials.
The Member credentials are the user's personal credentials for the app. The Team credentials are the shared credentials for the app used by all the members of the team in the tenant.
The team skill set supports both Member credentials and Team credentials, while the skill sets from AI assistants and the Orchestrate Agent Skillset supports only Team credentials as credential type.
